No Halloween passes without the rush of people hoping to get scared, spooked, freaked and thrilled by ghosts, goblins, vampires and whatever else they can find.

"There's nothing like being in a haunted house because there's no movie that can give you the same kind of feeling that a haunted house can," HauntWorld magazine Editor-in-Chief Larry Kirchner told ABC News. "You're not watching a screen, you're in the screen, you're the star."

Each year, HauntWorld magazine searches state to state, city by city to find the best haunted attractions in the country.

"Even though a typical haunted house today is at least 1,000 times better than what they were 10 years ago, there's still a gigantic gap between a handful of haunted houses and the rest of the country," Kirchner said. "Whenever one of these haunted houses does something that the next haunted house down the road could not do, that really makes a difference."

One major factor that sets the best haunted -- and paid -- attractions apart from the rest is the attention to detail, Kirchner said. Many of the attractions on HauntWorld's Top 13 haunted houses list have the ability to create sets that look straight out of a Hollywood movie and some have even been used in films.

"These concepts are huge," Kirchner said. "The amount of money that is put into them is astronomical and it really separates from what a typical haunted house would be."

A lot of the haunted attractions caught HauntWorld's eye were because of the overall experience they give people. Not only are visitors spooked inside the attraction but there are actors scaring people waiting in line and websites with spectacular marketing that sets the stage for the eeriness of the attraction.

One thing that HauntWorld.com looks for when ranking haunted attractions is creativeness. And with 13 indoor and outdoor themed attractions, 13th Gate in Baton Rouge, La., goes above and beyond.

"We go outside of the norm," owner Dwayne Sanburn said. "We have the traditional things like a cellar and clowns but then we take it way out a lot further."

Sanburn has 182 employees in the cast and crew at 13th Gate, which has been running for 11 years. He also has a year-round staff that tears down parts of the attraction after Halloween each year and rebuilds it with something brand new.

This year, 13th Gate has an ice cave with a frozen wooly mammoth, haunted insane asylum, a dragon, zombies and vampires, live roaches and a rickety bridge overlooking hundreds of live snakes. They also have a makeshift cemetery that can only be entered by going down into an open grave and maneuvering underground tunnels.

"If you are afraid of something, we have it here somewhere for you," Sanburn said.

Sanburn's favorite attraction this year is the cave system that has 35 tons worth of concrete, is completely hand carved and took nine months to make.

Many of the staff at 13th Gate has worked in the film industry and the attraction has even been used for film and television sets before.

Sanburn said most people come out of the 30- to 45-minute attraction either screaming or laughing and for him, that's the biggest payoff.

Netherworld, located in Atlanta, has two pitch-black, walk through attractions filled with repulsive monsters, special effects and live actors. Be prepared for the Banshee attraction where the wail of the beast means death to whoever hears it. Enter into Netherworld's dark basement for the Hive attraction, which is guaranteed to give you more crawling, skittering, bloody insect nightmares than you can imagine.

This intense, cutting-edge, multi-story and multi-attraction haunted event has thrilled and terrified visitors for 16 years. Each year the attraction is created by film industry professionals and Netherworld's detailed scenes were even used in the 2009 film "Zombieland."

The Headless Horseman attraction in Ulster Park, N.Y., has a variety of spooky attractions, including six professionally created haunted houses, a labyrinth-style corn maze and a mile-long hayride. All 45 acres of the Headless Horseman attraction are laced with scary monsters and creepy clowns, including Butcher Joe, The Bogeyman, and Prisoner X.

This year's theme is "The Cult of the Horseman" and other attractions include The Lunar Motel, Glutton's Slaughter House, The Root Cellar, Dark Harvest Corn Maze, Nightshade Greenhouse, The Feeding, Dahlia Blood's Manor and, new for 2012, Dr. Dark's Black Spider Sideshow.

Illusionist Ryan Dutcher and his creative team also perform each night using a unique mix of magic, special effects and theatrics sets.

The Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth-Dallas was named the longest haunted house in the world by Guinness World Records. The attraction is set inside a 100-year-old abandoned meatpacking plant and the machinery is used in the attraction. Mannequins are brought through the meatpacking process until they're chopped into butchered corpses. The entire attraction takes 55 minutes to complete.

To bring the fear of the Cutting Edge Haunted House to life, the attraction employs 10 year-round employees. During the month of October, they have anywhere from six to eight makeup artists plus apprentices and two to three people in the costume department. There are anywhere from 75 to 100 cast members that do the scaring.

And while the lines can be long for this spectacular spook fest, don't fear. There is a DJ playing outrageous sound tracks, a monster hearse motoring about providing photo opportunities, a full brass band of zombies and members of Cutting Edge's eerie undead precision drum-line keeping the crowds entertained and giving them a taste of what's in store for them inside the haunted attraction.

House of Torment, located in Austin, Texas, has been scaring people for 10 years and this year they have three separate houses all in one place. The Howling attraction brings visitors to the origins of the Mayan prophecy that some say predicted the world will end Dec. 21, 2012. Once you enter and pass down the La Corona Hieroglyphic Stairway, be prepared to face the dark wolves who rule the Lost Temple of Tortuguero with their maddening howls.

In the Awakening attraction, visitors will attempt to fend off the attacking fiends and come face-to-face with horrors of the old. In The Slaughterhouse, witness the chainsaw mayhem and avoid the steel death trap massacre while you try to make it beyond the gauntlet of slaughter. When walking through each haunted house, keep your eyes peeled for gory monsters including Captain Scoria, Hacker Jack and John Doe.

Erebus is a four-story haunted attraction in Pontiac, Mich., that has been giving visitors a thrill since 2000. Erebus means the darkness beneath the Earth that the dead must pass to reach Hades and that's exactly what this haunted house represents. This attraction will give you fear so intense that some call it painful. It provides some unique scares including bottomless pits, crushing walls and giant monsters.

The Asylum haunted attraction in Denver, Colo., is more than 15,000 square feet of terrifying fun that was completely redesigned for the 2012 Halloween season. The attraction provides up-close and in-your-face spooks inside the Gordon Cottingham's Hospital for the mentally insane. Deep inside, visitors will find a damp and musty place infested with rats, spiders, snakes and the endless screams of tortured souls.

And if that's not enough incentive for you, the Asylum has also been featured on the Travel Channel's show "America's Scariest Halloween Attractions."

The Dent Schoolhouse in Cincinnati doesn't mess around when it comes to scaring people. The attraction's website has a fake newspaper that shares the history of the schoolhouse and the children who went missing from there. "The old school house is now said to be haunted with the roaming spirits of the children that were "taken care of" by the Janitor," the website said.

The haunted attraction at Dent Schoolhouse takes place in an actual old schoolhouse that the company promises is actually haunted. The attraction also has an intense military-themed maze called Detention Hall. There are 40 to 55 actors scaring and haunting visitors who dare to enter.

The Miami Heat met every challenge last season. That is what champions do and they earned it. Yet they also got a stark vision of the future along the way, that is a fully healthy Chicago Bulls team.

Jimmy Butler and Luol Deng anxious for a fair fight

LeBron James is the best in the NBA and his team defended their crown. There is no arguing facts. That doesn't mean however that they got some harsh lessons along the way. Perhaps the most telling was their grueling seven-game series against Indiana or even the mighty Spurs. It was the unexpected dog fight they got from a Bulls team missing two out of its three All-Stars and their best floor leader in Kirk Hinrich. Chicago took Game 1 in Miami to the surprise of everybody, and refused to die even after the inevitable came around when the Heat took control. That tenacity and will earned the respect of James, and also served as a reminder that they won't have it that easy again. Jimmy Butler was quick to point that out in interviews. While he respects Miami for what they accomplished, he made it clear the Bulls do not fear the Heat. After two unfortunate exits at the hands of James and company, Chicago has learned its lessons well. For the first time they might have a lineup that is as offensively proficient as their usual strong defense. Toss in a bench loaded up with shooters like Hinrich, Mike Dunleavy and rookie Tony Snell and there is a reason experts like the Bulls more and more in the East.

Tom Thibodeau understands it all starts with Derrick Rose

Still, with all the upgrades Chicago has made to their roster, the fans and even head coach Tom Thibodeau understand the true source of championship aura will come through Derrick Rose. The star point guard is set to make his returns after over a year rehabbing the torn ACL that so tragically ended the Bulls playoff run in 2012. Everything appears on track for his return to start in early October when the preseason gets underway against the Indiana Pacers. Nobody expects Rose to reclaim his MVP form right away, but given his work ethic and signs from Thibodeau, it won't take long once he's back on the floor. Rose was the offensive centerpiece for the Bulls. Not only was he their leading scorer at 21.8 points per game but also made life easy for teammates with 7.9 assists. Word is his jump shot will be far more efficient than when he first went down. To think that kind of player can join a roster that made it to the semifinal round and beat the eventual NBA champions in a game is a scary thought.

The Miami Heat are the best. As the saying goes, to be the best one must beat the best. Jimmy Butler believes the Chicago Bulls didn't get a fair shot last season. With Derrick Rose back, that opportunity isn't far off.

I'd like to tell you about a game called The Triangle Game. There are 2 levels to this game, and most of us are already playing on the first level but we're not aware of it. This first level isn't really very fun -- I call it the Bermuda Triangle Game, because basically we get lost in it -- sometimes our whole lives.

According to psychiatrist Stephen Karpman, there are three roles we humans unconsciously play with each other when we're in conflict -- these roles are victim, persecutor, and rescuer. Other names for them are victim, villain and hero (think of Little Nell, Snidely Whiplash and Dudley Do-Right). Another way to think of it is poor me, poor you, forget you! But my favorite names are Meanie, Weanie and Genie.

Some clues that you're in the Bermuda Triangle Game are that your breath is shallow, you use absolute words like "You always" or "You never," and your body posture is frozen in a certain position that goes with the role. The object of the game on this first level often is to win the victim position -- that's the prize. It's as if we're presenting our case to a judge, saying, "Your honor, I am the victim here." And the other person says, "I object! Your honor, I am the victim here, and I can prove it. I have witnesses!" These exchanges can get quite heated. One word of caution to you -- issues in the triangle may appear larger than they actually are!

You can get lost in the triangle, but you can also get found in it. That brings us to level two of the Triangle Game. When we finally get dizzy from going round and round the triangle, we can take a drama-mine pill -- that's the reality pill we take when we start to see that maybe this drama is mine. Maybe it might have something to do with MOI (as in My Own Issues). That is the key to level two of the game. Instead of having witnesses to verify that we are victims, we've brought in a new kind of witness, our conscious awareness that is witnessing us and seeing that there's a familiar pattern to what we're doing. Einstein said, "No problem can be solved at the same level of consciousness that created it." Awareness that we are contributing to the conflict shifts us to another level of consciousness.

The object of the game at level two is to shift into even more awareness, to take responsibility and express greater authenticity. One way I've learned to make this shift is once I'm aware that I'm in one of these roles I play with them by exaggerating them, make them bigger, give them names. For example, my rescuer, I call Miss Wonderful, will do anything for you. She says, "Just give me a cape and here I come to save the day! Let me help you!" Eventually my victim, Chopped Liver, shows up and says, "Nobody appreciates me, what am I, chopped liver?" She can then flip into my persecutor, who I call Miss Thunderful, and might say something like, "It's all about you. YOU, YOU, YOU. I do and do and do for you and this is the thanks I get!" These roles can all occur within our relationships, or just within our own head. By playing with these personas we have fun with them and we also can more clearly see these roles we've been unconsciously playing.

Playing with them is one way to loosen their grip on us. A second way we can loosen their grip and shift our position even more is to literally change our body position, to move our bodies. We can literally shake free of the grip of the role by shaking our bodies. Dancing is a great way to loosen the grip. I met my husband Tom at Gay and Katie Hendricks' relationship workshop where I first learned about the Triangle Game. He and I danced during the breaks, playfully dancing our defenses and making faces at each other. We still do that ten years later and it's a really fun way to get free of the triangle. A third way to shift off the triangle into more authenticity is to take deep slow breaths. Soon you will be freed from the triangle into a more spacious, objective, creative place.

The next time you find yourself in a conflict with someone, notice if you're on the triangle, notice if you're in a Meanie, Weanie or Genie role. If you become aware that you are, congratulations, you've made it to level two of the game. There you can try these three shift moves: Play with the roles you're in, move your body, and take deep, slow breaths. This can help shift you off the triangle and into your authentic self. That's how you win the triangle game, and that's how you win the game of life.

Article Body:

Japan based Microsoft has announced in media that in coming days Xbox is going to lead the online console gaming leaving behind the, PlayStation or GameCube. A company orator told journalists that Microsoft Company is "sketching up a plan to prove in public that Xbox is the unique".

It looks odd that the company has however to declare dense strategy though, predominantly with just two months left for launch. Reasonably, in coming times all most all console gamers will be based on dial-up modems. The bazaar in the Japan can serve the broadband mechanism with better options that will improve the computers with cable modems, ADSL and ISDN, possibly using Firewire or USB. The reality of the subject is even if that broadband has not advanced rather as projected, and for coming year also it will not be in position to trade consoles.

It may possible that Microsoft assures about the readiness of its console 'broadband' and it may be possible to link many users with ADSL, cable and other systems. Let's not overlook their competition. Sony isn’t flippant; their PS2 is quickly going to feature a modem, a hard disk and broadband adapter, possibly all as a set.

Users of this field would be capable of getting online, downloading files and playing games also via dial-up or through plugging their console into a Telewest set-top box. That indicates that gaming online, and in the similar timescale that plans of Microsoft seemingly want.

It's a well-known fact that available generation consoles of Nintendo and Sony are unable to run online without alteration on external adapter it is the plus point for the Microsoft. The Xbox needs only plug exact in there to go, they tell. We require particulars.

Still in case you overlook the noticeable need of a base-level modem dial-up adapter, it feels too difficult. Though this network is not providing its services throughout the UK, but it has huge number of PS2 users and has the skill to compete to Sony-branded network. Microsoft hopes that owners will just link themselves up and leave. There are sufficient choice pitfalls here; working as the way you adopt.

Initially, cable modem certification is depending on the address of MAC card network and the system differs minutely from supplier to supplier that works when your cable modem receives the address of MAC card network then card linked to it that is only to that device and controller server keeps this address related with the addresses of all other cable modem owner.

If you replace network cards, it requires at least four hours for the database to clean the previous address then it can accept a new. Thus efficiently, when you remove plug of cable from your PC and connect it directly into the Xbox, you can only use it for delay period. The method of getting it working, you should plug the Xbox into a center or connect via console that is accessible called as gateway. Xbox do not behave as a PC. The gateway machine is unable to provide its own network address or way its own Internet link.

The other tech-savvy way is to link the Xbox through a cable modem not as per you but as Microsoft feel, think or propose. Microsoft is not gravely thinking or indicating to overcome these problems. That shows that task of cooperating owners who wish to well would fall with Microsoft. It looks rather doubtful that this is plan of Microsoft.
